Matthew Blaze, a voting security researcher, announced Monday that he is leaving the University of Pennsylvania for Georgetown University, where he will be the McDevitt Chair of Computer Science and Law. At the University of Pennsylvania Blaze was an associate professor of computer science. “After 14 amazing years at Penn, I’m moving to a unique new gig at Georgetown,” Blaze said on Twitter. “Starting this semester, I’ll be the McDevitt Chair of Computer Science and Law, where I’ll focus on interdisciplinary research and teaching that bridges CS and law/public policy. I’m really excited about this opportunity–it was truly an offer I couldn’t refuse (in a good way) to continue and grow what I think is a vitally and increasingly important intersection of two fields that need to get to know each other better.”
