Boston Government Services, a top contractor to the Department of Energy (DoE) for technology and security services, has named former DoE Chief Information Officer Rocky Campione vice president of cybersecurity and technology solutions.
Campione was CIO at the Energy Department from 2019 to 2021, and also led the agency’s Artificial Intelligence Office.
Prior to a ten-year stint in the private sector at Planet Technologies, he held several senior positions at DoE from 2004 to 2009 including senior advisor to the deputy secretary, deputy assistant secretary for national security, and senior advisor to the agency’s CIO.
After leaving DoE in 2021, Campione was U.S. Public Sector Lead for Security and Compliance at Amazon Web Services.
“Rocky’s knowledge of the federal and energy markets coupled with his proven leadership and business acumen will be invaluable to BGS,” said Harry Boston, founder and CEO of Boston Government Services.
The company provides cybersecurity, IT, nuclear technology, and other services to private sector and government customers including DoE and its national laboratories, the National Nuclear Security Administration, and the Defense Department.

“While continuing to do great work for the US Government, we will expand into the commercial sector where we will bring our experience to provide cyber assurance and IT services to companies in critical infrastructure sectors,” he said.
