The General Services Administration (GSA) announced Sept. 12 that it selected Carahsoft Technology and Grant Thornton for the first task orders under its NewPay blanket purchase agreement that aims to modernize Federal payroll services.
Specific terms of the task orders were not detailed, but GSA said they were in the “multi-million dollar” range.
GSA said that payroll modernization aligns with the President’s Management Agenda published in 2018, as it supports the Trump administration’s focus on providing government-wide shared services.
“NewPay will harmonize agency legacy systems with a secure, modern, commercial, standards-compliant Software as a Service (SaaS) solution to ensure consistency in payroll outcomes across the federal environment,” GSA said. “This will be achieved through the collaborative efforts of federal shared service payroll providers and SaaS vendors, while further maximizing opportunities to improve customer satisfaction,” the agency said.
