The Commonwealth of Virginia has made important investments in IT and cybersecurity in its fiscal 2017 budget. Those investments will support a doubling of the staff supporting Virginia’s chief information security officer, the building of a cybersecurity range, as well as the establishment of a cybersecurity fusion center and a cybersecurity services bureau.
“The beauty of Virginia is that it’s a consolidated state–all the agencies come through us,” said Virginia Chief Information Officer Nelson P. Moe. “So from a cyber, governance, projects, and procurement, we get a chance to have a common agenda focus.”
